  Bell Beaters
Organ Automatons
LIMONAIRE - France - end of 19th century

A pair of polychrome carved wooden
moving figures which were used to beat
time on merry-go-round organs. Made by
the Limonaire firm, the figures, which
struck fixed bells, were placed like columns
on a very popular organ, the 49-key
orchestrophone. The originality of their
Turkish suit is due to the oriental fashion,
popular at the end of the last century.
