Fairground Art
GAVIOLI - France - end of the 19th century

A pair of polychrome carved wooden
statues serving as embellishment on the
large fairground organs of the last century.
It is recognisable as much by the care
taken in its execution as by the designs
painted on it as a piece of work from the
Gavioli family, artists of Italian origin who were
specialists in the construction of huge
richly-decorated organs.
