The trumpets. clarinets and
piccolos are in gold on a black and red facade
(embellished with gold!). Above them are dragons,
around them hussars from operettas - this is a
Military Band Organ and was the attraction of
bioscopes and skating rings.
Built in 1896 in the United States of America by
Wurlitzer, a firm of German origin, this
instrument remains in the style of the great
European merry-go-round and fairground organs;
but for the way in which a spool of papers
used, this device being very fashionable
overseas. The scale separates the set of reeds
(trumpets / clarinets) from the six other sets
which thus allows for pleasing solos and other
fanfare impressions.
